A very poor conversion of Double Dragon to the Atari 2600 from the arcades. The controls in this game are awful. especially if you are using a one-button joystick. You have to move and hold the joystick at a desired direction and then press a button execute the moves. For example for kicks you have to move and hold down and press a button. For jump kicks, you have to move and hold up and press a button. For elbow attacks, you have to move and hold diagonally left or right and then press a... Topics: double dragon, atari 2600, longplay
There are 125 levels before the game starts counting them. After that I editted out all deaths except the final one just to give it a proper game over screen. The font in the game failed to use anti-aliasing. Topics: atari, 7800, game, console, longplay, complete
Known as The Humans on every other system (it was released on a few computers/consoles/handhelds), although the Lynx version is shorter and scrapped and different because of it. Topics: Atari, Lynx, Handheld, console, complete, longplay
Just as challenging and annoying as the original. Lots of pixel perfect jumping and getting on and off the ladder can be a challenge in its self as if you miss you fall and get hurt which is no good if going for a maximum score run of 199000.....Which I have! This is the first version of Cubis created for the Atari 2600 back in 1997. The reason why I say first is because a revision of it came along and added colour (color) to the game. I myself actually own the original version and only got notified that a revision of the game existed (I could have made more friends). To my understanding that has an ear harming of some music compared to this one which is dead silence... Anyways Cubis is a Tetris Clone for the Atari 2600 much better than the game... Lets kickoff the 7800 section with Commando, recorded to compare with Atari's earler effort on the 2600. The game is certainly more recognizable with the original Arcade version and still has the classic Atari sound. I played on expert difficulty and recorded all 8 levels. Slight graphic anomaly on title screen due to emulator used but doesnt cause any issues once ingame. Topics: Atari, 7800, commando, arcade, game, console, longplay, complete, walkthrough
Arcade lightgun shooter played in 2 player mode. Game takes a while to start as I let all the intro anims play out, although I did cut out the demo play parts to shorten it. You may wonder how a 20 minute game went on for nearly 50 mins so ill tell you. After the intro, the game starts in 2 player mode. We aim to try and show as many of the secret areas as we can, but we cant get them all. The camera pans far to quickly and the pad curser moves far too slowly to reach them in time. ... Welcome to my History of Video Games where I try to tell the story from its beginnings through to the present day and the future. On reading video game histories I have always been frustrated by many of the systems I and my friends grew up with in the UK not being mentioned or at best being only given a foot note. The reason is of course many of these publications are American in origin and so of course over there these systems were little known about. Also a lot of these books didn't cover...
